Still playing around, still refining, still trying new ideas out.  Here is the latest version of CoP Trumps

Trumping your Community Plan

Do you have a plan for your community?

Do you know what you’re going to do next?

Have you done the basics?

Are you stuck for ideas for activates to do with the community?

Well maybe CoP Trumps are for you.

Last week I ran a small workshop with a few facilitators from the Knowledge Hub to test out the updated version of CoP Trumps (Communities of Practice Trumps).

The main take away from the session was to develop a community action plan to help them plan community events, communications and day to day activities.

We had a few that where new to the concept of communities of practice, and a couple that had run communities before but where thinking about re launching.

So this was very timely session indeed.

The original version of CoP Trumps had 37 cards.  The latest version has 85 but in may have a few more soon.

Cop Trumps has a range of tools, techniques and technologies that a facilitator of a community has at their disposal.  So after playing a quick game to familiarise everyone with the cards.

(It’s always interesting to see how competitive a game can be especially when the girls win).

It was then onto the Community Plan.

We used a simple template that Erica Hurley from the Knowledge and Innovation Network introduced me to.

And they started to prepare the community plan for the next few months.  The great thing was that by the end of the hour session everyone had something to take away with them and to put into action.

And after running a Gone Well / Not Gone Well. The shortness of the session and having something to take away from it was a really positive and something that I will intend to do for all future workshops.
